We are delighted to welcome best-selling fiction author Nicole Baart to the Iowa Writers’ Collaborative.
She is a Sioux Center native, author of 11 novels, mother of five, and co-founder of the nonprofit One Body, One Hope. She is also a regular presenter during the Okoboji Writers’ Retreat.
Living in small-town Iowa is a cultural experience not shared by those who live in larger metro areas. Why? Everyone knows your business, and this familiarity has plusses and minuses.
A familiar refrain in neighborly conversations could include the admonition:
“This Stays Here.”
Translation: don’t tell anyone.
