Wait - will the Flipside be the political or the not-political content? (I see a couple articles you listed coming up Wednesday, including Bob and Phoebe, that are on the political side).
Admittedly I get sort of lost in the land of Substack sometimes when looking at notes vs posts vs comments. Other times I find myself wandering down rabbit holes when discovering articles and related articles attracting my attention and keep going from one to another.
The Iowa Writers Collaborative becomes (IMO) exponentially more important on January 20.
I am slightly confused, too, like Jim. The soil conservation column is a blend of the new category environment and climate, along with agriculture, and legislative policy. Thank you!
Thanks, Jim. This is a work in progress, but I see The Flipside being published mid-week as a way to break up the content. Cultural posts will be dominant mid-week, while politics and issues will remain on Sunday. Some writers with a traditional 'beat' might feel constrained to that topic. This way, they might feel free to explore other issues and topics.
The current paradigm has put news and politics as the lead stories. This should in no way diminish more culture-oriented work.
Anyway, we're all just trying to figure this out. Thank you so much for all you do to support this effort!
Thank you for organizing this increasing sized (trainload/wagon load/ truck load - pick your favorite metaphor) of amazing writing talent!
I wonder if anyone has else is like me starting to feel guilty about my growing number of “favorite” writers but with a limited quantity of resources to support them all with individual subscriptions. I want to support them all!
I will try my best.
But the variety of topics, perspectives, and writing styles is incredible. Thank you.
You are correct! This is a LOT of local regional news. I Love it!🙂
Good idea.

Yes, it's a work in progress. You, the writer, will pick the category you feel fits best.
