IMO, this business model is the way to go for digital writing. Readers can choose to “go paid” with whom they choose or they can choose to support the coalition as a whole by supporting this one.
Would love to see something similar here in WI., or a topical one for music writers.
Yes, if you know anyone who wants to start something like this, I am happy to share my experience. And I agree, musicians could do something similar in collaboration. I've been talking to a few about just that. The Iowa Musicians Collaborative could be a new niche, where they could post links to columns with tour schedules and upload audio and video of their music.
